Midnight Poet Strikes Again - Triggered

Youth in the yard

Hit his kid. Hard.

Pelting their pebbles,

They finished, fulfilled.

And though the boy was contrarily killed,

Papa responded.

He had to rebuild.

“If stones will be cast, you should throw your own. Better to throw than to be overthrown.”

For ego replenishment,

and as the empowerment,

He halted the talks,

And gave his kid rocks.

The child, palms open,

Placed his conviction in

Papa’s prediction,

and knew that he had a chance to be stronger.

His weakness would be preyed upon no longer.

And a new thought was triggered.

The idea grew bigger.

For if power over others was real,

Why not make the whole class kneel?

And Dad proudly beaming,

Cocking his son

Stood tall, with pride, who won’t be outdone.
